This is the story of a certain son. Kondo Tatsuo is a student at a university in Tokyo, living alone. Due to renovations to their house, his cousin Yabe Yasuhiro and aunt Yabe Hisae are staying with his mother Kondo Ikumi, essentially staying at Tatsuo's family home.
