Kosuzu Mikan moves to and is assigned to a remote village deep in the mountains, which was introduced as part of a regional revitalization and medical support initiative. While Kosuzu is excited about her new life in the idyllic village, she gradually becomes aware of the village's abnormalities. The village is severely depopulated and has a surplus of men.
