Today, another lost man wanders into "Amayadori," a pub that captures the hearts and stomachs of salarymen. His name is Shimoyama. A little while has passed since he first visited this establishment, where he works as a teacher. His intense gaze isn't fixed on the food, but secretly on the proprietress, Ririko. However, after learning that Ririko is married, Shimoyama becomes dejected and, after drinking heavily, falls asleep. When he sobers up and opens his eyes, Ririko, sitting beside him in the dimly lit pub, smiles and says, "Oh, you're awake..."
